I began my teaching career in 2004 as a fifth-grade teacher and have spent the past 20 years doing what I love—working with children. Throughout my career, I’ve primarily taught 2nd and 5th grades, and each experience has deepened my passion for education and my commitment to student growth.
I hold degrees from UCLA and Azusa Pacific University (APU), and my journey in education has evolved over time. Recently, my focus has shifted toward supporting the whole child, nurturing not just academic success, but also physical and emotional well-being.
I believe that meaningful partnerships with families and communities are essential to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and effective learning environment. With the support of the Community Schools grant, I’ve stepped out of the traditional classroom setting to explore the education system from a broader perspective. This opportunity has empowered me to work toward systemic change and to have a greater impact on students’ lives by connecting schools, families, and communities in support of the whole child.
