Hello Willard Families,

September is California's Pedestrian Safety Month!  This is the perfect time for us to introduce you to our new CROSSWALK & CROSSING GUARD!  Mrs. Le is our crossing guard so stop by and say "Hi" to her.  Both of these are put into place to keep our students and families safe.   We highly encourage all families to utilize the crosswalk and please do not jaywalk.

PEDESTRIAN SAFETY TIPS

  • Use crosswalks when available and look left, right, then left again before crossing.
  • Make eye contact with drivers and watch for turning vehicles.
  • Stay off your phone while crossing.

DRIVER SAFETY TIPS

  • Slow down near crosswalks and schools and always yield to pedestrians.
  • Watch for pedestrians when turning and never pass a vehicle stopped at a crosswalk.
  • Put your phone down and stay focused.
